BSB51415 DIPLOMA OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Our structured 12 month Diploma of Project Management reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge. They may manage projects in a variety of contexts, across a number of industry sectors. They have project leadership and management roles and are responsible for achieving project objectives. They possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others.

There are no entry requirements into this qualification, however, examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their vocational experience include:

  • Project Coordinator
  • Project Management Officer
  • Project Team Member
  • Project or Program Administrator

This program requires good command of spoken English, the capacity and ability to interact with team members, customers and staff, to read, and the ability to write and communicate at the level needed to effectively communicate within business at a senior level.

You will have a working knowledge of project management principles and processes according to PMBOK and be equipped with an understanding of project management methodologies with the application of tools, techniques and methods.  Successful completion of this program will result in the award of a BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management.  Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in.

BSI Learning’s Diploma of Project Management

PROGRAM OUTLINE:

The Program is delivered over 12 months through 10 classroom based workshops (delivered one day each month over 10 months) and extensive assignment / practical project work between sessions.  A range of delivery methods are used that include but are not limited to face-to-face / structured workshops, case studies and online resources.  It is designed to enable students to explore issues and share experiences with likeminded people and offers flexibility around existing workloads and priorities to give participants every chance to succeed.

The focus of the program is very much on ‘how to’ apply key project management principles.

Workshop Session

This is the final day of classroom delivery that includes revision and assessment support.

Attendance and Participation

It is expected that students will attend all class sessions and contribute to class discussions.  Demonstration, presentation and participation in classroom discussions and activities will be assessment methods used in the classroom.

Submission of workplace projects

It is essential that the evidence for each Unit is provided from multiple complex projects.  This means that for each unit, evidence can be provided from more than one project.  These projects should involve a comprehensive project plan, formal communications strategy, dedicated project budget, multiple administrative and operational components, a wide range of stakeholders and a project team.

Resources

Learner Workbooks and Guides, project management templates, assessment  materials and other support material will be provided.  The course is developed around the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) published by the Project Management Institute.  This is a substantial reference manual and is used by the trainer.  It is not essential, but participants are encouraged to purchase one of these for themselves for use during the Program and as a reference manual after the Program.

*Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management from the Business Services Training Package. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any of the unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in.
